Indian equity markets opened lower on account of a fall in the US markets and subdued Asian peers.
At 9:20 am, the Sensex was 192 points in the red at 43,987 and the Nifty was trading at 12,875, down 0.49%.
Powergrid, L&T, Axis Bank, SBI and ICICI Bank were the top losers.
