The Supreme Court on Tuesday while hearing petitions seeking a thorough investigation into the Pegasus scandal, issued a notice to the centre, saying the government should reply on snooping allegations. The government has however said it has "nothing to hide from the court"
The apex court added that it will decide on forming a probe committee to examine the allegations only after getting the centre's response.
Government top lawyer Tushar Mehta argued against putting out facts of the Pegasus case in the public domain citing national security.

Agreeing with Mehta, the apex court said it will not ask the government to disclose sensitive information to the public
The court said it does not want national security to be compromised but wants a competent authority to respond to claims that phones of individuals were attacked.
The matter will again be heard after 10 days.
