Prime Minister Modi meets Pope Francis at the Vatican

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Pope Francis for a one-on-one meeting at the Vatican on Saturday. It is the first-ever one-to-one meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Pope Francis, the head of the Catholic Church. 

Modi is also the first Indian Prime Minister, Pope Francis has met since becoming Pope in 2013.

PM Modi and Pope Francis discussed a range of issues including COVID-19, general global perspectives and maintaining peace and tranquility.. 

The meeting takes place on the second day of Modi's official visit to Italy along the sidelines of two-day G20 summit to be held in Rome.
