Pakistan's Mohd Rizwan becomes first batter to score 2000 T20 runs in a single year

Pakistan's opener Mohammad Rizwan became the first batter to score 2000 T20 runs in a calendar year.

In 45 innings, Rizwan has amassed a century and 18 T20 fifties, with an average of over 55 and a strike rate of over 130.

His 1293 runs out of 2000 came in 26 T20 Internationals.

During the T20 World Cup 2021 semifinal against Australia, Rizwan became the first batter to score 1000 T20I runs in a calendar year.

During the same competition, Rizwan broke Chris Gayle's record for most runs in a calendar year in all T20s, scoring 1665 runs.

Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Babar Azam is second on the list with more than 1700 T20 runs.
