According to data from the National Payments Corporation of India, Walmart-owned PhonePe overtook Google Pay as the top UPI app for the month of December 2020. NPCI says the PhonePe digital payments platform processed 902.03 million transactions in December, a total of ₹1,82,126.88 crores. Google Pay, on the other hand, recorded 854.49 million transactions, amounting to ₹1,76,199.33 crores.
