'Saree not smart casual': Restaurant's clarification after woman claims 'entry denied'

Twitter users are slamming a Delhi restaurant for its 'bizarre dress code' after a woman alleged that she was denied entry for wearing a traditional Indian wear.

Anita Choudhary alleged she was not allowed to enter 'Aquila Delhi] restaurant because she was wearing a saree.

A short clip of the incident is doing the round on social media, where staff can be heard saying, that 'saree doesn’t come under smart casual'

She pointed out that some parts of the country do not consider saree as a "smart-wear".

Twitter is calling out the 'bizarre, discriminatory and elitist' attitude. 

The Delhi restaurant has issued a statement and responded to the controversy. Aquila took to their Instagram account to say that it is believes in honouring the Indian community and has always welcomed their guests in all dress codes from modern to traditional
