After complains against biased vendor selection by e-tailing giant Amazon, the govt is ready with its draft e-commerce policy as per reports.

The latest draft states " E-commerce operators must ensure equal treatment of all sellers/vendors registered on their platforms and not adopt algorithms which result in prioritizing select vendors/sellers,". Reports also indicate the govt will insist on clear and transparent policies on online discounts.

The policy follows reports about large e-sellers flouting norms to promote preferred vendors.
