FMCG major Nestle has reportedly admitted that 60% of its mainstream food and drinks portfolio failed to meet a "recognised definition of health."
The world's biggest food company, Nestle’s, which makes Maggi noodles, KitKats and Nescafe, said that some of its food products will ‘never be healthy’ no matter “how much they renovate”.
It added that it would continue to make its products healthier. Nesle, however, claimed it had reduced sugars and sodium in its product by about 14-15% in the past seven years.
Only 37% of Nestle's food and beverages achieve a rating above 3.5 under Australia's Health Star Rating system.
