Neeraj Chopra ends up in a hospital with high fever, leaves function midway

Barely hours after he finally reached home, Neeraj Chopra ended up in a hospital with a high fever and was forced to leave a felicitation ceremony mid-way in his hometown of Panipat. The 23-year-old who won Gold for India at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics had earlier tested negative and has been meeting a lot of people including PM Modi and attending many functions.

Earlier on Tuesday, Neeraj was welcomed home with great zeal by the locals. Almost 30,000 people turned up as the Olympic gold medalist was welcomed and then escorted by fans, media and police. 

According to reports, Neeraj has been running a fever for a couple of days and constant public commitments since his arrival in India from Tokyo seem to have taken a toll on his health.
