The Indian Council of Medical Research on Saturday said that a study on mixing and matching of Covid-19 vaccines Covaxin and Covishield has shown a better result.

The study showed that immunisation with the combination of an adenovirus vector platform-based vaccine followed by inactivated whole virus vaccine was not only safe but also elicited better immune response.

While Covishield is a chimpanzee adenovirus vector-based vaccine, Covaxin is an inactivated whole virus vaccine.
