Major changes in PM Modi's cabinet as senior ministers Ravi Shankar Prasad, Prakash Javadekar and Harsh Vardhan resign. 

Ravi Shankar held the Ministry of Law and Justice,
Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Prakash Javadekar was incharge of Forest Ministry, Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Heavy Industries Ministry.

Apart from Health Ministry, Harsh Vardhan headed Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences. All three held the cabinet rank.

Other cabinet rank ministers who resigned are Chemical and Fertilisers Minister DV Sadanand Gowda, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. Thawarchand Gehlot resigned as Social Justice Minister earlier in the week after being appointed as Karnataka Governor. 

Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Babul Supriyo, Dhotre Sanjay Shamrao, Rattan Lal Kataria, Pratap Sarangi and Debashree Chaudhri have also resigned from the council of ministers. Resignations of all 12 ministers have been accepted by President Ram Nath Kovind.
