Key meeting on Class 12 board, entrance exams today

A high-level meeting between four union ministers, state education ministers, and education ministries secretaries will be held today to discuss the proposals for the conduct of Class 12 board exams and entrance examinations for professional courses amid the Covid pandemic. The virtual meeting will take place at 11:30 am and will be chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' will attend along with  Smriti Zubin Irani and Prakash Javadekar.

Pokhriyal said on Saturday said PM Modi has desired that any decision that affects students has to be taken after consultation with states and the education stakeholders like the teachers, parents and students.

The Education Ministry, and the CBSE are “exploring options” regarding the conduct of examinations, keeping in view the safety of students and teachers, the Education Ministry said.
