The Mumbai Sessions court has rejected a plea filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in December 2019, in late Bollywood actress Jiah Khan's suicide case.

In its plea, the CBI and Jiah's mother Rabiya Khan had sought permission to continue further probe into Jiah Khan's suicide. The CBI requested permission to send the 'dupatta' purportedly used by Jiah to hang herself, to the Central Forensic Laboratory at Chandigarh for further analysis.

CBI also wanted to send cellphones which were seized post her death, to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the US to retrieve 'deleted' chats between Jiah and her alleged boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi

Pancholi's lawyer had objected to the petitions, saying the matter has already been decided by the High Court and Supreme court.
