As MS Dhoni returned to lead the Chennai Super Kings once again in the Indian Premier League, he became the oldest captain to lead a team in the league. Speaking after the match, MSD explained the sudden change in leadership in the CSK. He said that Jadeja who took over the responsibilities from him was facing a lot of pressure and that was affecting his game.

Jadeja led CSK in 8 matches this season after the sudden decision of MS Dhoni to relinquish the captaincy of the team a few days before the tournament started. Dhoni added, "I think Jadeja knew last season he'd be captaining this year. For the first two games, I oversaw his work. After that, I insisted he'd take his own decisions and responsibility for them. Once you become captain, it means a lot of demands come in. But it affected his mind as the tasks grew. I think captaincy burdened his prep and performances."
With 2 wins in 8 matches before Sunday night, Chennai Super Kings were looking down and out but with Dhoni coming back to lead the side, the fans saw instant results with the team defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad quite convincingly. Miracles are possible in cricket and with Dhoni at the wheel once again, Chennai fans have more reasons to believe that reaching the playoffs is quite possible.
