BCCI and IPL Governing Council's rationale behind the change in plans is to avoid any further incidents due to any undetected case during a long-distance bus journey in a closed environment.
According to a press release, a total of 5 cases have emerged from the Delhi Capitals camp. 1 cricketer and 4 members of the support staff have tested positive and all are in isolation. Mitchell Marsh, the cricketer who tested positive is under observation in a hospital in Mumbai.
The press release further mentions that from April 16th, the entire Delhi Capitals contingent has been put under a daily RT-PCR testing procedure and will undergo another round of RT-PCR testing on the morning of April 20th before the game.
