Shocking video of women being molested in broad daylight has emerged from Madhya Pradesh. Opposition party Congress tweeted a video of women being assaulted by multiple men, even as passers-by mutely watched. Congress claimed the video was from Alirajpur.
In the video, two women are seen next to a vehicle when two men assault them. Even as the first two assailants leave, more come forward to molest the women, while the large crowd present does nothing to rescue the victims.
Congress criticised the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led BJP government in the state for failing to protect women.
The incident reportedly occurred during the Bhagoria tribal festival, which is being celebrated in many parts of Madhya Pradesh. The districts of Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Barwani, and Khargone are reportedly celebrating the festival. Police claimed to have detained two accused, but the main accused is yet to be taken into custody, as per an NDTV report.
