Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Rudrapur to inspect the arrangements for the proposed trap shooting competition as part of the ongoing 38th National Games in the state.
He praised the enthusiasm of the local population for the National Games, highlighting the state's sports infrastructure.
Dhami said, "Different events are being organised at different places in the entire state. People of the state are enthusiastic and all those who are facilitating this - I congratulate all. We have now a good infrastructure for the sports that will help the sportsperson in the days to come."
The 38th National Games are being held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, marking the first time the state is hosting the prestigious event. The government is putting in significant efforts to ensure the games' success, aiming to make it a historic event that will give Uttarakhand a new identity in the sports arena.
Karnataka currently leads the medal tally with 55 medals, including 29 gold, 11 silver, and 15 bronze.
The Services Sports Control Board holds second place with 47 medals, consisting of 28 gold, 10 silver, and nine bronze.
Madhya Pradesh is in third place with 35 medals, including 17 gold, eight silver, and 10 bronze.
