A minister in BJP's Madhya Pradesh government is being accused of threatening Opposition workers to join the ruling party, or face demolition of their properties.
State panchayat minister Mahendra Singh Sisodia reportedly told Congress workers to start defecting to the BJP gradually as the state will see elections in 2023 and the BJP will win again.
He ended by saying "Mama's bulldozer is ready", which is being called a reference to Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his policy of demolishing allegedly illegal portions of properties of people facing criminal cases.
He made the comments ahead of the Raghogarh Nagar civic polls scheduled for 20 January.
In response, Guna district's Congress unit chief advised Sisodia to exercise restraint, and said that the people of the area will give a "befitting reply" to the BJP in the upcoming polls.
