A video of two Manipur women being stripped naked and publicly molested led to uproar, protests, and eventually adjournment in the Rajya Sabha on Day 1 of the Monsoon Session.
Opposition MPs on July 20 sought suspension of all other business for a discussion on the Manipur situation.
While the Narendra Modi government said that it was ready for a debate, Opposition MPs were not keen on a Short Duration Discussion.
This led to protests and adjournment of the Parliament's Upper House for 2 hours from 12 noon.
