A senior BJP leader has been accused of taking the law into her own hands after her video went viral. Uma Bharti, former Union Minister and ex-Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, was seen vandalising a liquor store in Bhopal.

In the video, she is seen calmly entering a liquor vend. Subsequently, she hurls a big rock at a shelf containing alcoholic beverages. Her supporters then begin shouting slogans as Bharti exits the store.

Last year, the BJP leader had reportedly sworn to hit the streets "with a stick" if liquor was not banned by January 15, 2022. However, the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh reportedly made liquor cheaper the same month.

The state reportedly has over 2,500 country liquor, and over 1,000 foreign liquor shops.
