Days after comedian Munawar Faruqui's show was cancelled in Delhi, stand-up comic Kunal Kamra's event has reportedly been cancelled in neighbouring Gurugram.

Studio Xo Bar, the club which was supposed to host Kamra's show, cancelled it after alleged threats of protest from some right-wing organisations, as per reports.

On 9 September 2022, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal wrote to police seeking scrapping of the comedy shows on 17 and 18 September. The VHP claimed that Kamra mocks Hindu gods and goddesses which can lead to communal tension in Gurugram.

Reacting to the cancellation news, Kunal Kamra posted a sarcastic tweet saying, "He makes fun of our culture we claim. He makes fun of our deities we think. We have no evidence but his show disrupts our peace. 12 of us don’t want the show to happen & 500 have got tickets to watch it. So what should the authorities do? (UPSC question 10 marks)."
