Residents of Bengaluru woke up to rain fury in the city on Tuesday morning. The overnight downpour in the city led to heavy waterlogging in the city. Life was thrown out of gear as commuters struggled to travel.

Several videos shared on the micro-blogging site by residents showed the city's condition. While major roads in the silicon city were inundated, residents struggled to wade through knee-deep waters to reach their destination.

River raft boats were dispatched by the authorities to evacuate stranded residents that were heavily flooded due to incessant rainfall.

Schools and colleges were shut in the city following the rains. There may be no relief for the city as IMD issued a heavy rainfall alert in the city in the next-24 hours.

According to IMD, Bengaluru received 12.8 mm of rainfall on Monday and has recorded 364.2 mm of rainfall in August so far.
