Japan PM arrives in India: China, G20, Indo-Pacific, defence the agenda

Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrived in India on the morning of 20 March 2023 for a two-day state visit.

During his trip, Kishida is expected to unveil his 'Free and Open Indo-Pacific Plan for Peace' in which India is likely to figure prominently.

In their meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kishida are expected to discuss priorities for India's presidency of G20 and Japan's presidency of the G7.

The two sides will talk on expanding ties in defence and security, trade and investment, and high technologies.
