Amid Income Tax Department searches at BBC's offices in Delhi and Mumbai, reports emerged of what was happening inside the investigation venues.
Around 20 I-T officials searched BBC's Delhi office, according to an NDTV report. Staff on the Urdu desk, and finance department officials were present inside, India Today reported. Employees in the afternoon shift at the Delhi office were told to work from home.
Meanwhile, the news agency AFP said that people were prevented from leaving. Tax sleuths had taken over 2 floors at the Delhi office to control the movement of people, DW reported.
In Mumbai, the UK broadcaster office in Bandra-Kurla Complex was visited by I-T officials, while staff at the BBC's Khar office were told to go home, as per India Today.
