Karnaprayag after Joshimath? Cracks in more houses as land subsidence fear grows in Uttarakhand

Amid evacuations and planned demolitions in Joshimath due to land subsidence, or 'sinking' of the ground, another town in Uttarakhand is reporting a similar experience.

People living in Chamoli's Karnaprayag claimed that their houses are also developing cracks. Damage to houses was reported from Bahuguna Nagar area.

Meanwhile, around 4,000 people have been shifted from the danger zone in Joshimath. Over 600 buildings in the town had developed cracks.
