By-poll results: setback for BJP as TMC, Congress candidates race ahead; RJD wins Bihar

The counting is on for by-polls conducted on April 12 for one Lok Sabha and four assembly seats. 
In Bengal, The Trinamool Congress (TMC) marched ahead of its rivals in the Asansol Lok Sabha constituency and the Ballygunge assembly segment after six rounds of counting. 
TMC Babul Supriyo is ahead of CPI(M)’s Saira Shah Halim in Ballygunge, while the ruling party’s nominee Shatrughan Sinha is leading over Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Agnimitra Paul in Asansol. 
The Congress candidate for Chhattisgarh's Khairagarh assembly seat Yashoda Niamber Verma is leading BJP’s Komal Janghel. The Congress candidate from Maharashtra's Kolhapur North Jayashree Jadhav is also leading BJP candidate Satyajit Kadam. 
Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Amar Kumar Paswan won Bochahan assembly seat in Bihar, defeating nearest BJP rival Baby Kumari by margin of over 35,000 votes.
