Hours after news emerged of Income Tax Department action at BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai, the UK broadcaster issued a brief statement.

The public relations team of BBC tweeted on 14 February 2023 that the company is "fully cooperating" with income tax authorities present at its offices. The broadcaster added that it hopes to have the situation resolved as soon as possible.

I-T officers launched what they called a "survey" operation over alleged irregularities on international taxation issues, according to reports.
