A report by Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has detailed Apple’s plans for the year 2022. According to Gurman, the company is readying a new slate of products for the upcoming year, and while there are predictable launches of new iPhone, iPad, and Mac models, Apple could also be planning to enter some new market segments altogether.

The report states that Apple may launch their first augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) headset in 2022. This may be Apple’s move to capitalise on the metaverse, which is an increasingly popular concept.

Additionally, Apple is working on a revised iPad Pro for 2022, which would come with wireless charging support. It would also launch updates to the base iPad, and the iPad Air.

Apple may also be preparing a MacBook Air revamp for the next year, with the biggest redesign the MacBook Air line has ever seen. They may also launch a new high-performance iMac model with Apple Silicon, which would be placed above the current 24-inch iMac. A new entry-level MacBook Pro, a new Mac Mini, and a new Mac Pro could also be launched.

Gurman also says that Apple will launch three Apple Watch models next year, including the Apple Watch SE 5G, the Apple Watch 8, and a new extreme sports Apple Watch model with rugged features.

The company may also launch an updated iPhone SE 5G next year, along with next-gen AirPods Pro wireless earbuds.

Of course, Apple is also slated to launch the iPhone 14 lineup next year.
