Navaratri 2022: Navratris are here and the nine days are all about offering prayers, reciting hymns and fasting. For all those who are fasting,

Here are some Navaratri foods you may not know you could still enjoy.

1. While grains are avoided during these fasts, you could turn to amaranth or ramdaana which is actually a pseudo-cereal and is also gluten-free.

2. Chironji, flax seeds and sunflower seeds have great Ayurvedic properties and give an energy boost. You can whip up a delicious Chironji Ki Dal and roll flax seeds and sunflower seeds into your rotis.

3. Himalayan pink salt is considered to be the purest form of salt on Earth. It is not refined or processed and is rich in as many as 84 trace minerals!

4. Potato is not only starchy vegetable you can eat while fasting. Root vegetables like arbi, jimikand and sweet potatoes can be eaten. You can add them to a chaat, shallow-fry them or cook them as a main dish.

5. You can have Food. Just make sure that they are pure and unprocessed.

6. You can even chomp on a bowlful of peanuts and use peanut oil for cooking.

However, you decide to plan your meals, keep them light and simple.
