Raju Srivastava's wife Shikha Srivastava calls him a 'true fighter'; Kapil Sharma pens an emotional note

Comedian-actor Raju Srivastava passed away on Wednesday in New Delhi. He was admitted to AIIMS on August 10 after suffering a heart attack. He will be cremated on Thursday, September 22.

In an interview with ETimes, Raju’s wife Shikha Srivastava, who has been inconsolable, called him a ‘true fighter’ and said she was really hoping and praying to see him come out of this. 

Over the last two months, Raju Srivastava's nephew Kushal Srivastava and family friend Dr Aneel had frequently been visiting him. 

Kushal told ETimes that Raju Srivastava passed away due to a second cardiac arrest. He said, ‘We were confident till yesterday that all will be well because he had battling it for two months.’

Dr Aneel Morarka said that the comedian lived a life that they are proud of and he prays that he will find peace and comfort where he is.

Comedian Kapil Sharma took to Instagram and penned an emotional message for late comedian Raju Srivastava. Sharing a picture with Raju from the sets of ‘The Kapil Sharma show’, he wrote, ‘You have made me cry for the first time Raju bhai, I wish if could meet you for one last time. May God bless you. You will be remembered a lot. Goodbye, Om shanti).’ 

Raju Srivastava began his career by doing in brief roles in several films, including ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Baazigar’ and ‘Bombay to Goa’. He gained recognition after participating in the comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’. He later also participated in the third season of ‘Bigg Boss’.
