It all started off in the year 2004 when Karan Johar made his debut as a TV host with ‘Koffee With Karan’. The first-ever guests on the show were Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. The show has come a long way since the first season. Besides the juicy conversation, the show’s USP was also its rapid-fire round and the coffee hamper, which saw many celebs at their ‘fighting best’.

Just as when the whole world was contemplating about the ‘celebrity list’ who will be featured in the latest season (season 7) of ‘Koffee With Karan’, Karan dropped a bombshell of sorts by announcing that the season 7 of the show won’t happen.

Karan Johar took to social media and posted a message stating, ‘Hello. Koffee With Karan has been a part of my life, and yours, for 6 seasons now. I’d like to think we’ve made an impact and even found our place in pop culture history. And so, it is with a heavy heart that I announce Koffee With Karan will not be returning… Karan Johar’. In no time, the comments section of the post was filled with messages from many requesting Karan Johar not to discontinue the show. Amidst all this, there was a news report in Indian Express which stated that 'Koffee With Karan' won't be discontinued as such because the makers are planning to stream the show on Disney+ Hotstar. However, there has been no announcement from the makers about this so far.

On the film front, Karan Johar is busy shooting his film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ which stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan. If the buzz is to be believed, then, the film will also see Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol making a special appearance. The film is scheduled to be released on 10 February 2023.
