South star Amala Paul welcomed a baby boy with her husband Jagat Desai on June 11. The actor shared the joyous news on Instagram on June 17.
Sharing a heartwarming video, Amala wrote, ‘It's a boy !! Meet our little miracle, ILAI born on 11.06.2024 (sic).’
The video shows the couple bringing their baby boy home from the hospital. Although they chose not to show their son’s face, the pure joy on Amala’s face as she gazes at their newest family member is evident. Their home is beautifully decorated with colourful balloons, creating a festive atmosphere to celebrate this precious occasion.
Following the birth announcement, fans and colleagues congratulated the couple.
The actor had shared photos from her baby shower in April.
Amala Paul was previously married to director AL Vijay, from whom she divorced in 2017. She then married her longtime boyfriend, Jagat Desai, in a private ceremony in Kochi in November 2023. In January 2024, she announced her pregnancy, sharing baby bump photos and other snaps from her photoshoot.
Amala began her acting career with the Malayalam film ‘Neelathamara’, marking the start of a successful journey in the South Indian film industry. She has starred in several blockbuster films such as ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, ‘Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal’, ‘Naayak’, ‘Run Baby Run’, ‘Iddarammayilatho’, ‘VIP, Pasanga 2’, ‘Hebbuli’, and ‘Ratsasan’.
Her most recent appearance was in Prithviraj Sukumaran’s ‘Aadujeevitham – The Goat Life’, an adaptation of Benyamin’s novel.
Amala also ventured into Bollywood with a cameo role in Ajay Devgn’s action-thriller ‘Bholaa’.
