Blackpink's Lisa announces solo comeback after 2 years with ‘Rockstar’; here's when it will release

Blackpink's Lisa, known for her worldwide hits, is back in action. The rapper-singer took to Instagram to announce her comeback song. Lisa revealed the release date of her new track, titled ‘Rockstar.’

Taking to her Instagram Stories, Lisa shared a poster that read, ‘Lisa Rockstar…Thursday 6/27 @ 8 PM ET…5 PM PT…Friday 6/28…7 AM TH/9 AM KR.’

For the unversed, on June 6, Lisa announced her comeback to the music scene.

She took to TikTok and shared a clip of an unknown song, captioning it, ‘Coming soon.’

Later, the Blackpink singer posted on her Instagram Story, writing, ‘Coming soon. Lisa. Pre-save on Spotify. Pre-add on Apple Music.’

Previously, Lisa also shared a TikTok video teasing her comeback song, saying, ‘Baby, I am a Rockstar.’

About Lisa’s musical journey

Lisa, also known as Lalisa Manobal, announced the launch of her own label, LLOUD, on February 8 following her departure from YG Entertainment to pursue solo activities. She also signed a solo partnership with RCA Records for her new music releases. Additionally, the K-pop artist has shared her plans to release a new album by the end of 2024.

Lisa debuted in August 2016 as one of the four members of the South Korean girl group Blackpink. She later became a permanent cast member on the Korea Army Academy edition of the MBC military variety program Real Man 300 starting September 21, 2018. Lisa released her debut single album, Lalisa, in September 2021, becoming the first female artist in South Korea to sell 736,000 copies of an album in its first week. Her music video also set a new record for the most views in the first 24 hours on YouTube by a solo artist.

Lisa is set to make her acting debut in ‘The White Lotus’ season 3, which is scheduled for release in early 2025.
