BLACKPINK ready for comeback: Girl group to release new album, embark on World Tour in 2025

BLACKPINK will very soon be in your area! The K-pop girl group, comprising Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé, will be releasing new music in 2025, YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk shared this announcement in a video posted on Sunday, July 21. In the second half of 2025, the girl group will also be embarking on a World Tour, he added. 

Detailing specifics regarding the new release and upcoming concert were not elaborated upon at that time. In the video, he said, "There will be a highly anticipated comeback from BLACKPINK and it will also be the year that BLACKPINK starts their world tour."

Group's anniversary celebrations 

Previously, YG Entertainment had announced that the group would be celebrating its eighth anniversary with a special event for fans on August 8. The K-pop act was formed in August 2016 and has since become a global phenomenon, having delivered top hits such as 'As If It’s Your Last,' 'Kill This Love,' 'BOOMBAYAH,' 'Whistle,' and 'Lovesick Girls.'

YG revives its OG Girl Group 

In other updates related to YG Entertainment, along with BLACKPINK's upcoming activities, YG Entertainment also released a detailed schedule for the upcoming releases of the label's other artists. The video officially confirmed that YG's "first-ever successful girl group," 2NE1, consisting of Bom, CL, Dara, and Minzy, will be reuniting to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary.

More about BLACKPINK's World Tour 

The iconic band is set to embark on a global tour starting in Seoul in October 2024, followed by performances in Osaka in late November and Tokyo in December. The group's uberly successful Born Pink Tour concluded last year in August on a high note. Soon after, the K-pop act also renewed their contract with the label; however, they announced their departure from the group for individual activities.
