'The Crown' season 5 to recreate Princess Diana and Prince Charles' divorce; release date announced

'The Crown' season 5 will start streaming on Netflix from November 9. Ahead of the much-anticipated season, a short promo of the show was unveiled at the global fan event, Tudum, on Saturday night. 

The teaser focuses on Princess Diana and Prince Charles chaotic separation and divorce in the 1990s. It opens with close up shots of Princess Diana and Charles and shows news broadcasts announcing the Royal couple's separation.

'The Crown' is based on the life and reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The new season of the Netflix series will release two years after the last season.

Imelda Staunton will replace Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II. Charles and Diana will be played by new actors as well - Dominic West and Elizabeth Debicki respectively.
