Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Pathaan’ brought cinema back to life in Kashmir after 32 years. Houseful boards returned outside theatres with the Siddharth Anand directorial in January this year.

Now, Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ has broken ‘Pathaan's record as the Hollywood film is houseful for the next three days. As per reports, Srinagar's lone multiplex is reporting record sales for the Cillian Murphy starrer.

This is also the first time a Hollywood film has got a houseful status in Kashmir.
'Oppenheimer' had a record-breaking opening weekend. It collected Rs 60 crore across 1923 screens in India. This is the highest opening weekend ever for a Christopher Nolan film and a non-franchise Hollywood film.

It is also the highest opening weekend for a Hollywood film in 2023 in India.
'Oppenheimer’ stars Cillian as ‘the father of the atomic bomb’, Robert J Oppenheimer.
The cast also includes Emily Blunt as Oppenheimer’s wife, biologist Kitty Oppenheimer, Matt Damon as Manhattan Project director Lt Leslie Groves Jr, Florence Pugh as Oppenheimer’s ex-fiancee, psychiatrist and physician Jean Tatlock, and Robert Downey Jr as Lewis Strauss, the former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.

‘Oppenheimer’ is inspired by the 2005 biography ‘American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer’, written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin.
