‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, has opened to positive reviews. The Luv Ranjan directorial earned Rs 15.73 crore on its opening day. Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the box office figures and wrote, ‘#TuJhoothiMainMakkaar does VERY WELL on Day 1… Got a boost due to #Holi festivities in several states, but lost out on substantial chunk of biz where #Holi was celebrated a day early [#Mumbai; working day]… Wed ₹ 15.73 cr. #India biz.’
According to Times Now, the romantic comedy has emerged as the second-highest Day 1 grosser of this year, following Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Pathaan’.
‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ narrates the story of a ‘player’ who finds a girl who’s a worthy opponent. After she breaks his heart, he decides to teach her a lesson. The film also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, and Boney Kapoor in supporting roles.
‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar’ marked Shraddha Kapoor's return to the screen after three years.
