Filmmaker SS Rajamouli is now an international sensation following the worldwide success of his films like ‘Baahubali’ and ‘RRR’. He recently attended Governors Awards, a precursor event to the Oscars where many celebrities receive honorary statuettes, in Los Angeles on Sunday and met ‘Mission Impossible III’ and ‘Star Wars’ director JJ Abrams.
A picture of the duo posing together has been shared by the official Twitter handle of ‘RRR’ movie page. The tweet read: ‘And the foRRRce continues to be with #RRRMovie Hollywood filmmaker @JJAbrams, the director of Star Wars, Mission Impossible and many other remarkable movies, said that he is a huge fan of #RRR. Glad to see @SSRajamouli meet him at the Governors Awards (sic).’
Fans are now going berserk, calling it a huge moment for Rajamouli.
Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ crossed several milestones this year - it grossed over Rs 1000 crore globally and received raving reviews from many eminent filmmakers, including James Gunn and Scott Derrickson.
However, it wasn’t chosen as India’s entry to the Academy Awards, leading to much debate and resulting in a campaign to submit the film in all categories for next year.
