Neetu Kapoor became a grandmother after Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their first child, a daughter, on November 6. The actor was with the couple at Mumbai’s Reliance hospital for their special day. When she exited the hospital in the evening, she met the paparazzi stationed outside and answered a few questions regarding the newborn.
In a video that is now going viral, a cameraperson asked Neetu what she would like to say about the birth of her granddaughter, to which she replied, ‘Why do you always ask me all this? What do I say? I am very happy.’
Another photographer then asked her whom the baby girl resembles more- Alia or Ranbir. Neetu said, ‘She is too small right now, just born today. So, hard to say right now but she is very cute.’
Neetu Kapoor also gave us an update on Alia’s health post-delivery and said, ‘She is ekdum first class. Everything is fine.’
Earlier in the day, Alia Bhatt had officially announced the birth of her daughter on Instagram through a note signed by both parents. The note read, ‘And in the best news of our lives : Our baby is here.. and what a magical girl she is. We are officially bursting with love - blessed and obsessed PARENTS!!!!!’
Neetu reshared the post on her Instagram handle and wrote, ‘blessings’ along with a heart and folded hand emoji.
Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on April 14, 2022 after dating for a few years. They announced the pregnancy in June.
