'Brahmastra,' starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, is one of the most-anticipated films of the year. The fantasy adventure film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, is inspired by Indian mythology. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, the director took to Instagram and shared a video explaining the 'astras' and film's concept.
The director said that in the last few years the team has been building the foundation of a universe based on the concept of astras called the 'Astraverse.' He mentions the most powerful and most pure energy there is - Brahm Shakti, from which astras are born and they comprise different energies found in nature.
He then introduces the 'Jalastra', 'Pawanastra', 'Agnyastra', 'Vanarstra', 'Nandi Astra' and the 'Brahmastra,' lord of all the other astras.
Sharing the video, Ayan posted a note saying the film is an attempt to celebrate Indian spirituality in his own way and he hopes the audience enjoy it.
The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan as Guru, Nagarjuna as Artist Anish and Mouni as Junoon, the villain.
'Brahmastra' is Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's first film together. It will release in theatres on September 9.
