Farhan Akhtar's directorial ‘Lakshya’, starring Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta, re-released in theatres after 20 years on June 21. To celebrate, Farhan and his producer partner, Ritesh Sidhwani, had an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla. The duo discussed the challenges of making this army-based film and expressed pride that their work has stood the test of time, inspiring thousands to join the Indian Army.
During the conversation, Farhan was asked about his next directorial project. He revealed, ‘We start filming Don 3 next year. I am really looking forward to it. We have announced Jee Le Zaraa as well, so that’s another film that I will be directing. It has been a while since I directed a film, and I can’t complain about it as I enjoyed being a part of some wonderful films. I do feel a very strong urge to direct these films.’
When asked about the timeline for the shoot, Farhan replied, ‘It’s not just about my dates. There are many people involved, and the dates need to match. But, you will definitely see these two films from me as a director.’
Farhan Akhtar is gearing up to start his next acting venture before switching to ‘Don 3’ with Ranveer Singh and Kiara Advani. As reported by Pinkvilla, Don 3 will be followed by Jee Le Zaraa, aiming to reunite the original trio of Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. You can watch the full interaction with Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani as they reminisce about Lakshya and much more.
Meanwhile, at the trailer launch of Mirzapur season 3, Farhan shared that whenever he steps out, he is asked about the release dates of Excel Entertainment's marquee projects, ‘Don 3’ and ‘Mirzapur’.
‘It's the audience that makes it a success. The credit also goes to the talent on stage, the writing team and the team at Prime Video. We are very blessed to have these people collaborate with us on the show,’ he said.
