Filmmakers Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor were honoured with the Padma Shri in New Delhi.
Humbled with the honour, Karan Johar posted on Instagram, that he felt extremely fortunate to receive it from the hands of honourable President Shri Ram Nath Kovind. He added, "it is a momumental day for me, my mother, my kids and my company, and will forever be etched in my memory."

Ekta Kapoor shared photos from the Padma Awards ceremony, with her father and veteran actor Jeetendra, and wrote, "it was the biggest day of her professional life and second only to the birth of her son.

Smriti Irani shared a sweet message for her close friend and former producer Ekta Kapoor on Instagram. She wrote, it’s an absolute honour to see my friend bestowed with one of the highest civilian awards in the Nation, she has toiled for years on end to create a brand , a belief , a creative universe which transcended boundaries across many a mediums.
