Madhya Pradesh's Indore was rocked by a shocking crime on May 7. A jilted lover allegedly caused a fire which led to the deaths of 7 people and injured 9 others.

27-year-old Shubham aka Sanjay Dixit allegedly set fire to the two-wheeler of a woman who had rejected his wedding offer. The fire spread from the parking area to the other parts of the building.

A murder case has been filed against Dixit, but he is on the run. Police initially believed that a short circuit had caused the fire, but discovered the real reason after analysing CCTV footage.

The accused and the woman he targeted also had a dispute over a sum of Rs 10,000 apart from the spurned marriage offer.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced compensation of Rs 4 lakh for the kin of the deceased.
