752 snatching cases in Delhi in the past month: police data

Around 752 snatching cases have been reported in the last one month in Delhi, 24 daily on an average, as compared to 597 last year during the same period, according to police data. 

1,746 people have been arrested for snatching in the last four months with 1,237 being 'first-time' offenders, as per the data.

Till April 20, a total of 3,063 cases of snatching were reported as compared to 2,899 in the same period last year; 890 robbery incidents took place this year as compared to 735 last year; and 4,749 cases of house theft/burglary were reported this year as compared to 1,578 last year, as per the police data.

The data on case resolution and recovery shows that 52% snatching cases were solved with a recovery rate of 17%. 91% of the robbery cases were solved with the recovery rate being 53%.
