In major relief for the residents of the national capital, authorities announced lifting of all Covid-related restrictions, as new infections continue to remain low.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that the Delhi Disaster Management Authority headed by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, had decided to lift all curbs as the situation has improved, and people facing economic hardship need relief.
Night curfew between 11 pm and 5 am has been lifted, along with seating restrictions in various public places. Schools have been allowed to conduct physical classes from April 1. The monetary fine for not wearing masks has also been reduced from Rs 1,000 to Rs 500.

Kejriwal stressed that lifting of curbs doesn't mean that people should stop following basic precautions like wearing masks, maintaining hygiene and practicing social distancing. "Government will keep strict watch," he said.
Daily new Covid-19 cases in Delhi have been hovering around the 500-mark, with 556 new infections being recorded on February 24.
