Union minister Anurag Thakur hailed the Modi government's Covid vaccination programme at a Rozgar Mela event in Shimla on May 16, 2023.
He said, "I met Sundar Pichai at an event in Delhi. He lives in America, in Silicon Valley where IT, software companies are based. He's the CEO of a big company. He took out a piece of paper and said that he has to carry around his Covid vaccine certificate in his pocket. He said he has to travel around the world with a hard copy."
"But in India, even the poorest have Covid vaccine certificates on their mobile phones. No other country could do this," the minister added.
