According to research published in JAMA, pregnant women who received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine are not at a higher risk of miscarriage than their unvaccinated counterparts.

For the study, researchers examined 105,446 women who were between 6 and 19 weeks into their pregnancies. Amongst them, 7.8 percent had received at least one dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine and 6 percent had received at least one shot of Moderna.
As per the findings, 13,160 women suffered miscarriages between December 2020 to June 2021. The team found that the risk of miscarriage was the same for those who did not get vaccinated.
The study addresses concerns amongst pregnant patients regarding specific risks of pregnancy loss or miscarriage following COVID-19 vaccination.
