The Central Board of Secondary Education will conduct the Class 12 Board examination only for the major subjects, The Indian Express reported on Saturday.

The report quoting unnamed sources, said CBSE is considering two options for conducting exams where students would sit for the major subject exams in their own schools, instead of the designated examination centres.

The board is also planning a shorter paper of only 90 minutes carrying just objective-type questions.

According to the report a high-level meeting will be held on Sunday to discuss the proposals for the conduct of Class 12 board exams and entrance examinations for professional courses.

The Education Ministry, on April 14, had announced the decision to defer the exam for Class 12 students due to the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
