Case against Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and 36 celebs for revealing rape victim's identity

A Delhi-based lawyer has filed cases against many Bollywood and Tollywood actors for revealing the identity of a rape victim, in a 2019 case.

The lawyer filed cases, against Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Ajay Devgn and 33 other actors, demanding their arrest.

The complaint says revealing the identity of a rape victim is prohibited under law and by naming her, these celebrities were not being responsible citizens.

FIR against the celebrities pertains to a 2019 case, where a young veterinary doctor was gang-raped and burnt alive by four men on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The horrific incident had shaken the nation's conscience and many celebrities from Bollywood, Tollywood and other industries raised their voices demanding justice for the woman. But of them had referred to the girl by her name on social media.
