Canalys: global smartphone shipments in Q1 see a 27% increase over last year, Samsung leading the pack

According to data from Canalys, global smartphone shipments saw a 27% year-on-year growth in the first quarter of 2021. The data agency says global shipments reached 347 million units in Q1, with Samsung selling 76.5 million units, retaining its 22% market share from last year. Apple came in second with 52.4 million iPhones sold, while Xiaomi took the third spot with 49 million sales and a market share of 14%.
